The Chaotic Campervaners - Meet the Team

The Chaotic Campervaners

Welcome to our Blog!

We are Bluebell, Bakerboy and The Bunny Whisperer, AKA The Chaotic Campervaners.  We love camping and enjoy writing about our camping trips, holidays, days out and anything to do with camping or campervans.  We have great fun travelling round the UK in our 1973 VW T2 Devon Conversion Campervan who we call 'Reo The Speedwagon'.  Why not follow us on our adventures?

You can keep up to date with all our adventures by following us on our social media accounts:

Meet the Team

Hi, I'm Bluebell, mum of one, educator, and classic camper enthusiast.  I'm married to Bakerboy, a hardworking dad who loves nothing more than drinking coffee and talking about old VW campervans.  Our amazing young man, The Bunny Whisperer who is kind, clever and full of energy completes our team.  Oh and not forgetting Reo The Speedwagon who transports us on our adventures!

Bluebell

My very first camping trip was when I was a 10 day old baby.  My parents were youth club leaders and took me on a youth club weekend camping trip to The New Forest.  I have been hooked on camping ever since!  I am also a massive fan of classic Volkswagens, in particular classic VW Bettles and T1 and T2 campervans.  Many years ago, I owned a 1974 bubble gum pink Beetle which I named Bubbles and it was my dream to one day own a VW campervan.  Almost 2 years ago, we bought Reo, our 1973 Devon Conversion and our adventures began!

Bakerboy

Bakerboy is a hardworking classic campervan enthusiast who has also been camping since he was a child.  He was as keen as I was to get our own campervan and was the one who found our T2 Reo.  Bakerboy is also the one who does many of the jobs to keep our campervan running (with additional help from our friendly mechanic).  But the really important thing to know about Bakerboy is that he is addicted to coffee and is never happier than when he is on a campsite with a cup of coffee in his hand talking about classic campervans.

The Bunny Whisperer

The Bunny Whisperer is our very energetic son who went on his first camping trip just before his 3rd birthday.  He loves camping as much as we do and equally loves road trips in our Speedwagon!  The Bunny Whisperer thinks that the only downside about going on holiday is that he can't take his beloved fluffle of rescue bunnies with him.  He loves to spend his time horse riding, swimming, playing the piano and guitar and reading.  His aim is to spend as much time as he can travelling around in our campervan, having fun camping whilst also collecting all of the C&CC site flags.

Reo The Speedwagon

Reo is our blue and white 1973 Volkeswagon T2 Devon Conversion Campervan.  She was named after the 1980s pop group REO Speedwagon.  We bought her in 2021 and have been slowly making alterations, repairs and improvements ever since.  She is not a show piece and will never be pristine, we got her because we want to have fun on our travels and make lots of memories.  She may not travel very fast, but a road trip in Reo is always memorable and we definitely enjoy the journey!  If we are camping for more than a couple of nights we sleep in our spacious family tent.  But if we are stopping over on the way to somewhere else or we are camping just for a couple of nights then we sleep in The Speedwagon.  Although she technically sleeps 4 (there are 2 pull out bunks), we also use an awning for the added space.

We love going on holiday, camping, days out and exploring our beautiful country.  If you do ever see us on a campsite please say hello to us, we will always stop for a chat!  One of our favorite things about camping is that people are so friendly, we always seem to make friends.

We love to explore but we also like to use our camping trips as a learning experience.  Wherever we go, we want to find out about the area and learn about it's history.  We might use a day out or an experience to extend school knowledge or to work towards any 'Complete at Home' Cubs badges.  It's when we have more time to explain things in depth and take time talking about things together.

Even just scrolling through, looking at campsites and planning our next trip or day out makes me happy.  I find camping so relaxing.  That's not to say that camping is easy!  It is hard work, from putting up the tent to keeping The Bunny Whisperer busy and amused.  But everyone loves a holiday and if camping or campervaning is the holiday for you or you just love exploring our amazing country then please follow our adventures by following The Chaotic Campervaners on   Twitter   Instagram   Facebook   YouTube   Pinterest
