Road Trip Playlist by Volkswagen Camper Adventures (Part 1)

We hope that you enjoyed the first part of our Road Trip Playlist that we published last week in collaboration with our friends Volkswagen Camper Adventures. This week, we're very pleased to be publishing part 1 of Volkswagen Camper Adventures Road Trip Playlist. Enjoy! My Campervan Playlist Having the right playlist for your ca mpervan trips is absolutely essential.   If you're anything like me, hearing certain songs will remind you of specific trips, holidays or journeys.  For example, whenever I hear Vanessa Carlton's 'A Thousand Miles', it takes me back to a road trip to Cornwall for a lads holiday to Board Masters in 2007.  The song was five years old at this point, so it isn't like it was hanging around the charts and playing on the radio regularly, it was more about the funny moment where two, big, rugby league players and an Army engineer blurted out the opening lines in perfect harmony without thinking, when it played on whichever radio station we were ...

The Chaotic Campervaners Review of Stonehenge

Our Visit to Stonehenge We had been intending to visit  Stonehenge for a very long time!  Bakerboy had been there 3 times before many years ago, but The Bunny Whisperer and I had never visited it.  So whilst we were staying at the  Salisbury campsite , we thought that we would go to see Stonehenge. Before we booked our tickets to Stonehenge we decided to take out English Heritage membership .  We had previously been members and although this cost more than the entry to Stonehenge, we decided that it would be worth it as we would then be able to visit Stonehenge and over 400 other EH sites free of charge.   We booked our free tickets for 9.30 am, the earliest time that we could as this would be quieter.   When we arrived at Stonehenge, the queue for pre-booked tickets was much shorter than for those who were booking on arrival.  As you approach the ticket booth, there are QR Codes for you to download the free audio tour.  Alt...

The Chaotic Campervaners go to Salisbury Camping and Caravanning Club Site

Image
Salisbury Camping and Caravanning Club Site Salisbury Campsite Aeroplanes, ancient stones, cathedral city and masses of history We arrived at the Salisbury Camping and Caravanning Club Site feeling very excited as this was going to be the first time that we had actually slept in Reo The Speedwagon , our trusty campervan.  We had a lovely flat pitch in the middle of the top field.  Once we had set up our awning we sat down to eat delicious woodfired pizzas from the pizza van that visits on Friday evenings between 5.30 and 7.30.  The Salisbury campsite has 2 fields, both of which slope. The facilities include 2 toilet blocks, a small one at the top of the campsite and the main block with toilets, showers, wash cubicles and a washing up area further down.  The site also has accessible facilities, a parent and child room and washing machines.  Although the campsite does not have a play area, it is nestled next to Hudson's Field where there is plenty of room for ball...

Umberleigh Camping and Caravanning Club Site

Umberleigh Camping and Caravanning Club Site Umberleigh Campsite  Seaside towns, War Horse farm, sandy beaches, tennis and so much more! We arrived at the Umberleigh Camping and Caravanning Club Site in North Devon for our five night stay.  We had chosen this campsite as The Bunny Whisperer had never been to the north of the county and it seemed to be a good place to start. We were welcomed, shown where everything was and we were offered a choice of pitches.  We chose a lovely flat pitch with beautiful views across the fields.  The campsite is a fairly small but beautifully kept site with one toilet block which also has wash cubicles, showers, accessible facilities, parent and child facilities, washing up sinks and washing machines.  There is also a dog walk, a small play area, a field for playing ball games, two tennis courts for hire and a really good games room.  There was a small charge for the pool table and ping pong balls were available to buy...
